Hourihane goal puts Aston Villa past Yeovil

Aston Villa progressed to the second round of the Carabao Cup courtesy of a late Connor Hourihane goal on their visit to Yeovil.

The Glovers were left to rue missed chances as Alex Fisher failed to convert a second-half penalty kick.

Andre Moreira, the visitors' keeper on loan from Atletico Madrid, saved the shot from Fisher to keep the Birmingham side alive.

Fisher had a couple of good chances in the first 45 minutes as well but Steve Bruce's men held on and eventually got their own chance.

Substitutes brought Villa to life as Jack Grealish hit the crossbar before Jonathan Kodija outplayed Yeovil's Gary Warren and left Hourihane with a simple task to tap in the ball.
