Hoos defends Burnley agents email

Burnley chief executive Lee Hoos has slammed the way a group email to agents in the final days of the winter market was portrayed in the media.

Turf Moor's head of recruitment Lee Darnbrough sent the email out 24 hours before the deadline and it made its way to the national press.

Hoos told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph: "The way the e-mail came out was to make it look like we were desperate for players, asking is there anybody at all you have out there?

"The reality is completely different. At the end of the transfer window you never know if a player is going to be made available with another coming in to that club, one transfer in can sometimes loosen up someone to leave and it is the agents who will be aware of that.

"Everybody in football knows that the way it was presented is a load of rubbish."
