Australia midfielder Brett Holman was sent off in AZ Alkmaar's disappointing 3-0 loss to ADO Den Haag in the Dutch Eredivisie on the weekend. Holman received a yellow card in the 30th minute before obtaining a second caution and imminent expulsion from the game on the stroke of half-time.

At that stage the scores were locked at nil-all before ADO Den Haag kicked into gear against Alkmaar's ten men to record a resounding victory.
