Hodgson hails Arsenal youth system

England coach Roy Hodgson is full of praise for Arsenal's youth system.

Arsene Wenger has supplied England with young Guns for the squad who play in Tallin tonight against Estonia.

They are full-backs Calum Chambers, 19, and Kieran Gibbs, 25, midfielders Jack Wilshere, 22, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, 21, and striker Danny Welbeck, 23.

And Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson, 22, who is on loan at West Ham, was in the Under-21s squad but pulled out injured.

England boss Hodgson is not surprised at the changes at The Emirates.

He said: "We all saw it coming. Arsenal's youth policy has always been very good.

"We saw players like Oxlade-Chamberlain, Wilshere and Gibbs there as youngsters who we hoped would break through one day.

"Maybe the last couple of years has been the time it takes for these very exciting young talents to become first-team players."
