England coach Roy Hodgson has wrote off Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry for next year's World Cup.
Hodgson feels with skipper Steven Gerrard, 32, Michael Carrick, 31, and Frank Lampard, 34, he has enough experienced, older players in midfield.
"When I see him play I realise he is a good player," said Hodgson.
"Unfortunately he missed out in the Euros through injury, we went with other players, who have cemented their place.
"Furthermore people like Carrick have come on to the scene. It is really a question of how many central midfield players you can have."
