England coach Roy Hodgson says Chelsea star Ashley Cole would belong in any Three Lions Hall of Fame.

Hodgson reckons Cole's consistency and ability as a player earn him the right to stand alongside Three Lions icons -despite his negative image.

Hodgson said: "We don't have that Major League baseball hall of Fame like they do in America but in those terms these people are our Hall of Famers and Ashley will join that group.

"It is an achievement we shouldn't under-estimate and the fact that Ashley, at a relatively young age and with more football left in him, is likely to get his 100th cap very soon is fantastic.

"The players who have 100 England caps already are top names and legends of the past so it must be great to know you are joining that."
