Danny Higginbotham hailed Stoke City fans after their draw at Wigan Athletic.

The defender praised City's travelling following of more than 3,000, who continued to roar their side on even when Wigan were having the better of the game in the second half.

He said: "They were brilliant, it really did feel like a home game.

They are great home and away and we appreciate them so much.

"It is really needed at times and this game was no different."
