Guus Hiddink is being linked with the Barcelona job after resigning from Anzhi.

Former Manchester United coach Rene Meulensteen has replaced Hiddink as the new head coach at Anzhi, who play in the Russian league.

Barcelona are looking for a new coach after Tito Vilanova stepped down in order to undergo further treatment for cancer.

In a statement on the club website Hiddink said: "This decision was not easy for me. I always said that my mission at Anzhi could end when the club was able to develop and grow on its own, without my participation. Now that time has come."
