Hiddink insists Chelsea will not be selling Cahill

Guus Hiddink insisted Gary Cahill is not for sale and revealed the defender is not looking to leave Chelsea after holding talks with him, reports the London Evening Standard.

The 30-year-old centre half has become unsettled at Stamford Bridge after starting just five games in the last two months.

Hiddink told Standard Sport: "No (he is not for sale). First of all he is very happy. He is of value and as far as I'm concerned I will have him in the upcoming months.

"I think the club will have him in the upcoming years. He signed a new contract recently, which is a statement he loves the club and likes to be here.

"Some players have a little period where they don't play frequently, but in the multitude of games coming up, everyone will get their minutes to play.

"He's of big value and will prove that. If players are not playing, they must get frustrated. I talked to him a few days ago about the situation, which I like to do with key players.

"He is not to be considered as second to (anyone), he's of big importance and will be regarding the multitude of games.

"Gary was very open and clear that he loves to stay in this club, there was no single space left by him that he is not happy. I like his attitude in training and that will always be rewarded."
