Hibernian complete loan signings of Stoke's Soares, Livingston's McPake

Hibernian have completed a double loan swoop for Stoke City's Tom Soares and Coventry City's James McPake.

25-year old midfielder Soares joins from Stoke, where he has been hardly used since joining from Crystal Palace in 2008, and is looking forward to jumping straight into Pat Fenlon's squad for the weekend's clash with Rangers.

"I've been impressed with what I've seen at Hibs and now I want to repay the manager's faith in me by delivering some performances for the team," he said.

"I've settled in quickly and I'll be ready for Rangers, if selected by the manager.

"I'm really hungry to get my career back on track and to show the Hibs fans what I'm all about."

27-year old defender McPake, a former Livingston player, heads to Easter Road from Coventry and is planning to get the Edinburgh club back on track.

"Ever since I moved down the road I've watched a lot of SPL football and I can't believe a club of Hibernian's size are in the position they're in," he said.

"In order to get us back on the right track, we've got to give everything in every match - something that I'm planning to do."
