Promoted German club Hertha Berlin have confirmed the signing of Japan international Hajime Hosogai.
The 26-year old midfielder has departed Bayer Leverkusen to sign a four-year contract with Die Alte Dame who gained promotion to the Bundesliga from the second tier this season.
"Hertha BSC has taken the 18-time Japan international Hajime Hosogai under contract," the club said in a statement.
"The 26-year-old midfielder, who is joining from Bayer Leverkusen, has signed a contract in Berlin for the next four years. All parties have agreed on transfer arrangements between the clubs."
Hosogai, who spent time on loan with Augsburg both last season and the one prior, joined Leverkusen from J-League outfit Urawa Reds in 2011 and made 17 Bundesliga appearances in 2012/13.
