Hertha Berlin are determined to sign Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka next month.
The Daily Mail says Germans, now managed by former Tottenham striker Jurgen Klinsmann, want the Swiss midfielder signed up in time to be part of their squad for their mid-season training camp.
Hertha fly to Florida next Friday with the winter transfer window opening two days earlier.
Xhaka has reiterated his desire to leave after his October fallout with his own fans to Arsenal chiefs and new head coach Mikel Arteta, according to the Swiss captain's agent.
Following the bust-up that led to Xhaka losing the captaincy Arsenal had also decided to cash in and identified the Bundesliga as a potential destination.
Xhaka is still highly-regarded in Germany following a previous spell at Borussia Monchengladbach.
