Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has taken aim at his old club for their treatment of William Saliba.

The France defender is on a straight loan at Olympique Marseille from the Gunners.

Henry said: "It's really a shame to talk about what happened at Arsenal. At one point they didn't even let him make a mistake, he didn't even get a chance to contest his place. Now let's talk about what he was able to do here, what he is doing, it's extraordinary.

"It was rewarded with selection for the France team. Now he belongs to Arsenal, I don't know where he will end up, he didn't want to comment, we saw that it was a bit difficult for him to be able to express himself on this. But in any case, I know personally that he could easily have been in the Arsenal group.

"Where do I want to see him? At some point you invested a lot of money in this player and he still hasn't put on the Arsenal shirt. I find it a pity. He should at least have a small chance to maybe win at Arsenal, but he still belongs to Arsenal, so I would like to see him evolve at Arsenal to see if he has the talent to play in Premier League."
