Swedish club Helsingborgs IF are looking to retain the services of Alejandro Bedoya.
The 26-year old American midfielder has emerged as a target for Dutch side FC Twente but Helsingborgs sporting director Jesper Jansson hopes they can hold onto his services.
"The job now is to evaluate if it happens. As long as there is a chance, Bedoya is the highest priority. But if it were to succeed, we must have a plan B and a plan C also," read a translated excerpt from Helsingborgs Dagblad.
"I do not know much, but Alejandro is so OK and honest that I trust him. Had he said that the door was closed it had been. But since he has not said no to HIF, I work a hundred percent on trying to keep him."
He added: "As long as the door is not closed, I have faith. But I have been player himself and knows little of what situation he is in. You have to respect that.
"Whatever ends we can be happy that we got him here in the first position last summer."
