Schalke chief Horst Heldt has confirmed plans to sign Manchester City defender Matija Nastasic.
With AC Milan and Inter Milan registering their interest this week with City, Heldt admits they must move quickly to tie up the Serb.
"We are very interested and his representatives are currently in England for talks with Manchester City," confirmed Heldt.
Schalke would like to loan Nastasic for half a season with an option to buy.
Liverpool and Arsenal are interested in the defender now that City have made him available.
