Newcastle United are eyeing Heerenveen striker Alfred Finnbogason.
The People says top Magpies scout Graham Carr was spotted at the Abe Lenstra Stadion on Thursday, where he saw the 24-year-old score twice in his team's 3-0 Dutch Cup victory over FC Twente.
Finnbogason turned down the chance to join Celtic in a £5million deal in the last transfer window, and Heerenveen manager, Dutch legend Marco van Basten, has dangled a new and more lucrative contract in front of him in a bid to keep him.
But the Icelander is hanging back and would love the chance to try his luck in the Premier League with Newcastle.
