Heath heaps praise on Orlando City midfielders Ceren, Higuita, Okugo

Orlando City head coach Adrian Heath was full of praise for his team in the wake of the weekend's 2-0 victory over the Portland Timbers.

The Lions recorded their second MLS win courtesy of goals from Cyle Larin and Kaka at Providence Park on Sunday which saw them move to third spot on the Eastern Conference table.

The overall performance of Orlando City was one that thoroughly delighted Heath who highlighted the trio of Darwin Ceren, Cristian Higuita and Amobi Okugo for their brilliant work against the Timbers four-man midfield.

"I've managed to watch it a couple of times since and some of our play in the first half was excellent," said Heath of the match.

"Certainly in the middle of the field we moved the ball really well. The tactics seemed to work out just right, all the stuff that we thought would happen did, so it looks like we know what we are doing at times. It's quite pleasing.

"I thought the three midfield players did very well considering we sprung it on them on Tuesday last week of the way we wanted them tom play," he added.

"They all knew their roles and responsibilities within the group. I'm pleased for Darwin, he's a great kid. Comes in every day and gives you everything he's got. Never complains, never moans if he is not in the team, he's just a consummate professional.

"And I thought Cristian Higuita was great considering he hadn't played much. Amobi Okugo carried on the way he has done the last few weeks. Breaking things up, he does a lot of the dirty work that people don't see. Everybody likes all the fancy flicks and tricks but sometimes it takes all sorts to make a team up and certainly he can be really pleased with the work he's done in the last few weeks."

Orlando City, who have a record of two wins, two draws and two losses from their opening six fixtures, next take on Columbus Crew in Ohio on Saturday.
