Hearts expect to have Walker fit for Celtic clash

Heart of Midlothian boss Gary Locke is expecting Jamie Walker to be fit for the weekend's clash with league leaders Celtic.

The 20-year old winger sustained an Achilles injury in Saturday's 2-0 home loss to Inverness but has been given some good news ahead of this Saturday's trip to Celtic.

Locke suggested that Walker would be given every chance of proving his fitness as the Jambos look to bounce back from their 7-0 Scottish Cup loss to the Hoops on December 1.

"With Ryan Stevenson, Mark Ridgers and Jason Holt all out at the moment, we can ill afford any more injuries with the size of squad we have just now," Locke told Hearts News.

"It is good news that Jamie's injury doesn't appear to be anything too serious so we'll monitor him during the week and see how he is nearer to the match."
