Havenaar influences Vitesse victory over Roda JC

Mike Havenaar was the hero for Vitesse Arnhem as they beat Roda JC 3-0 in the Dutch Eredivisie on the weekend.

The 26-year old Japanese striker scored a double for the Vitas, with a goal coming either side of half-time, while Marko Vejinovic also got in on the act.

The opening goal at the GelreDome came in the 14th minute when Havenaar rose above his marker to head home Christian Atsu's cross, less than 15 minutes before Roda's Roly Bonevacia was sent off for a tackle on the former Ventforet Kofu man.

Vejinovic added a second with a superb free-kick on the half-hour mark before Havenaar wrapped up the contest with less than 15 minutes remaining when finishing off a neat pass from Davy Propper.

The pair of goals took Havenaar's season tally to eight from 24 league appearances to help Vitesse remain third on the league table, eight points behind Amsterdam giants Ajax.
