Talented Hamburg midfielder Ashton Gotz could be the next German-born player to represent the USA.
The 21-year old was born in Pirmasens to an American father and is currently on the radar of the US' German boss Juergen Klinsmann.
A report on mopo.de suggests that Gotz, who can also be deployed at right-back, has been approached by Klinsmann who wants him to make the switch to the native country of his dad.
Gotz came through Hamburg's youth academy before making his debut for the first team in September last year and has gone on to appear 10 times for Josef Zinnbauer's Die Rothosen who sit just above the drop zone in Germany's top flight.
