Hamburg are challenging Newcastle United and Liverpool for Hertha Berlin striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga.
A move to England remains the favoured option for the Lasogga camp, though HSV have expressed interest in a deal for the youngster, despite their relegation.
Lasogga's mother and agent, Kerstin, was due for talks with Hertha officials yesterday afternoon over her son's situation.
Kerstin spent last week in England and met with several interested clubs, including Liverpool and Newcastle.
Lasogga, who shone last season on-loan with HSV, has a year to run on his existing deal.
