Hamburg SV have denied reports that they have demoted Julian Green to their U23 team.
It has been suggested that the 19-year old USA international winger, who is on loan from German giants Bayern Munich, was told to train with HSV's youth team but die Rothosen have played down those rumours.
"He's not moving to the Under-23 team," Hamburg's press officer Lars Wegener told MLSsoccer.com on Wednesday.
"Our sport director said that maybe he could play for the U-23s a couple times when he is not in the first-team squad.
"The reason is to get him some matches and more practice. He is still with the first team in training."
Florida-born Green, who has played for both the USA and Germany at youth level, joined Hamburg in September on a loan deal that will run until the end of the current Bundesliga season.
He has made five league appearances including one start for Josef Zinnbauer's side who sit 12th on the German top flight table.
