Greg Halford has indicated that he is looking to leave Portsmouth to join a club capable of gaining promotion to the Premier League.
The 27-year old is set to depart Fratton Park after Pompey were relegated to League One and he is now targeting a Championship outfit who will be up the top and challenging for top flight football.
"That is why the Championship is so interesting because anyone can beat anyone on their day in this league.
"Whoever can get that level of consistency throughout the season will gain success, with Reading and Southampton doing just that this year.
"Hopefully, I can find a club that has the recipe for success, which is one that has a great togetherness around it and can perform on a consistent basis, and help them achieve that.""Probably 70% of the teams in the Championship, whether they are coming down or up as well, will be looking to qualify for the play-offs next year," Halford said.
