Matteo Guendouzi admits he had several offers outside of Olympique Marseille over the summer.
The midfielder joined OM permanently from Arsenal.
And he explained to bein SPORT: "There were a lot of clubs because I had two very good seasons at Arsenal before, at Hertha too. I was captain of the France U23 team so it caught the eye.
"I talked with three or four clubs and I decided to go to OM because it was the best project. I came when there was President (Pablo) Longoria and coach (Jorge) Sampaoli.
“We talked from May, they presented the project to me and told me that I absolutely had to come, that I would be an important element for the future. That's what's happening, they didn't lie to me, they told me that I would be very important, that I would go through a lot of stages and that I would be in the France team.
"I'm very proud to be here today, it was a very smart choice and one that I really don't regret."
