Manchester City want Victor Valdes after his exit from crosstown rivals Manchester United is complete.
The Guardian is reporting that City have enquired about the Spanish goalkeeper who will officially leave United on June 30 after a difficult two years at Old Trafford.
Valdes, 34, initially joined the Red Devils to continue his recovery from a serious knee injury before playing two times under Louis van Gaal prior to having a falling out with the Dutchman.
The former Spain international then joined Belgian club Standard Liege on loan in January but was swiftly sent back to United after just six games.
It is believed that incoming City boss Pep Guardola is interested in again working with Valdes who was his number one keeper at Barcelona between 2008 and 2012.
