Marko Grujic continued to impress in pre-season with another goal as Liverpool beat Huddersfield Town 2-0 in a friendly on Wednesday.
More than 21,000 fans turned out at John Smith's Stadium to watch Jurgen Klopp take on best friend David Wagner and seeing the Premier League side get the expectant result.
20-year-old Serbian midfielder Grujic produced a sweetly-timed volley prior to half-time to give the Reds the lead while adding a second goal to his pre-season tally.
Philippe Coutinho missed from the penalty spot before Klopp was forced to bring on reserve goalkeeper Shamal George to lead the attacking line after the hour-mark when midfielder Lucas Leiva limped off and he had to reshuffle his formation.
The second goal came late when left-back Alberto Moreno stepped up to convert form the spot, despite supporters calling for George to take the 12-yard kick.
Klopp was frustrated by a drone hovering over the stadium but will come away from Yorkshire happy knowing that his team had chalked another summer victory ahead of the 2016 International Champions Cup which sees them meet Chelsea in California on July 27.
