Manchester City attacker Leroy Sane has gone cold on a move to Bayern Munich.

Indeed, Süddeutsche Zeitung says the move was never a serious option for Sane due to a long held grudge.

It's claimed Sane remains bitter over Bayern's decision to pass on signing him three years ago while still with Schalke. The midfielder also has concerns about the pressure from the German media that comes with being a local player at Bayern.

Girlfriend Candice Brook also favours staying in England next season.

"We actually had the idea when he was still at Schalke," Bayern chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said yesterday of Sané, "but at that time we did not have a guaranteed regular place for him.

"(Arjen) Robben and (Franck) Ribéry were top of the line three years ago."
