Groningen chief Hans Nijland has confirmed Barcelona's interest in 18-year-old midfielder Ludovit Reis.

Reis has played 27 matches in the Eredivisie this season and his performances have caught the eye of Blaugrana talent-spotters.

Nijland confirmed that a delegation from Barcelona, lead by director of professional youth football Jose Mari Bakero, paid a visit to the Netherlands to have talks, the second such talks about the midfielder.

"We're seriously considering the possibility that he leaves for Barcelona next season," he told Fox Sports.

Reis would initially join Barca B.
