Stoke City fullback Andy Griffin hopes his Cup winner against Blackpool can be a career changer.
He explained to The Sentinel: "I literally just found myself on the ball," he recalled. "I think I wanted to go down on the left, but I came in on my right and luckily the shot has gone in the bottom corner.
"It's one of the best feelings I've felt in my life. This was an opportunity to try to prove a point and show people I've still got what it takes.
"It couldn't have turned out any better for me in terms of us winning the game and me getting the winning goal."
The former Stoke skipper insists he wants to remain at the Britannia, but admits that the final decision may not be his. "At the end of the day, every player wants to play, but I don't want to leave Stoke. I want to play for this club, but sometimes it's out of your hands.
"Hopefully, I've shown what I've got to offer. You can feel sorry for yourself because you're not playing football and feel the whole world is against you - and go around being miserable and be a bad apple.
"Or you can feel you are in a very blessed situation, even if you're not playing, because a lot of bad things are happening out there in the world with people having homes repossessed and losing their jobs.
"So I've really got nothing to moan about."
