Gremio are set to snap up Arsenal defender Andre Santos.

The Mirror says Gremio have offered the 29-year-old left-back a return to his homeland on loan, after his Gunners career turned sour.

Santos turned down a transfer-deadline move to Galatasaray, having ­previously played in Turkey for Fenerbahce.

But he knows his days are numbered after Wenger splashed out £8million on Malaga's Spain defender Nacho Monreal, rather than risk him as back-up for Kieran Gibbs, who has a thigh injury.

The only stumbling block will be when Arsenal ­sanction any move.
