Blackburn Rovers assistant boss Ray Mathias has hailed Vince Grella's home debut for their 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough. "Vince Grella, I can't complement him enough really," Mathias told the Rovers website. "How he played considering it was his first full game with us, he was certainly a great attraction and he did a very professional job for us.

"I was one of the people who went over to see him, and when I first saw him playing for Torino he was different class.

"Hopefully we'll see a lot more of him and if that performance against Middlesbrough was anything to go by and he's going to get better still then that is great."
