Esteban Granero admits Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho convinced him about moving to QPR.

Having been at the Bernabeu since the age of eight, the Spanish midfielder was bound to be wary about joining a Premier League outfit who only narrowly survived relegation on the final day of last season.

Granero, 25, said: "Jose thinks I've made the right decision - he thinks I am going to be happy here and that I will enjoy this league a lot.

"He also told me very good things about Queens Park Rangers and about our manager here, Mark Hughes. Jose said many good things about him.

"It is true that Mourinho helped me pick here."
