Gold Coast United's Anderson out for a month

Gold Coast United have been dealt another injury blow with news that left-back Anderson will be out for up to a month.

The Brazilian pulled up with a calf injury after the scoreless draw with Central Coast Mariners on Sunday and recent scans have shown the damage to be slightly worse than the club first thought. The injury comes as a blow with United set to take on Newcastle Jets in a midweek fixture at home tonight.

Anderson joins striker Joel Porter on the sidelines but his absence might force coach Miron Bleiberg to recall Dutch centre-half Bas van den Brink whilst reshuffling Adama Traore to defence.
