Gold Coast United to be without Moss due to ankle injury

Gold Coast United will take on second-placed Adelaide United on Friday night without goalkeeper Glen Moss.

The in-form Kiwi suffered an a sprained ankle during the 3-2 away win over Central Coast Mariners on Sunday and will not be fit enough to take his place for the trip to Hindmarsh Stadium.

"When I came off the field I was told that my ankle could be broken, so to find out that it's a sprain is a massive relief," Moss said.

"Friday's game is a big one for us and I'm disappointed not to be playing, but to know that there's nothing broken in and around my ankle is very reassuring and I'll be back in action soon.

"Hopefully I can recover quickly and go close to being ready for the Fury game next Wednesday. I'll be getting plenty of treatment on it and we'll see how I am around Monday next week."

Scott Higgins will step in for Moss for his first appearance of the 2010/11 season.
