Gold Coast United have signed Steve Fitzsimmons for a further season.

The 33-year old was handy at right-back for the first-year club, scoring twice in 19 appearances with 10 starts.

The Liverpool-born Fitzsimmons was offered a lifeline by United coach Miron Bleiberg prior to this season and did enough to warrant the club offering him another year.

He has previously played with Parramatta Power, Marconi, Brisbane Strikers, New Zealand Knights, Brisbane Roar, Palm Beach and Beenleigh.
