Newcastle Jets defender Adam Griffiths will be a given a chance to finish his career at the club on a high.
Griffiths has signed a two-year deal with new A-League franchise Gold Coast United after a reported falling out with Jets coach Gary van Egmond but is still eligible to play for the club in up to six matches of the Asian Champions League.
Griffiths says he intends to leave the club on a good note.
"Of course, and I will leave on a better note," he told The Herald.
"I'm just looking forward to the first (ACL) game.
"My focus is to play well for the fans and my teammates.
"I think my attitude towards my game is second to none," Griffiths added.
"People can question my attitude, but I find it quite funny, to be honest . . . I think it's a small minority, because the majority of fans I see wish me all the best.
"But I don't need to respond to any of that. I just want to keep quiet, go out and do my job and play well."
