Gold Coast United boss Miron Bleiberg is ready to close a deal for Hartlepool United attacker Joel Porter. Bleiberg watched the Australia international in action last week and told the Gold Coast Bulletin: "I liked what I saw.

"It's well known that we've been interested in him for a while now and hopefully he will join us.

"He's strong, direct but also has very good technical qualities. If he came he would do a good job, I have no doubt.

"But we cannot talk to him officially until January."
