Goalkeepers come up with the goods as St Johnstone and Aberdeen share spoils

St Johnstone and Aberdeen canceled each other out in a scoreless draw at McDiarmid Park in the Scottish Premier League last night.

Saints goalkeeper Peter Enckelman and his Dons counterpart Jamie Langfield were the stars of the show, coming up with vital saves in a match that did produce plenty of scoring chances.

The home side pressured Aberdeen in the second half but were unable to get past Langfield who equaled Enckelman's exploits in the opening 45 minutes, both denying their opposition with top saves.

The draw left St Johnstone in 10th position on the league table ahead of Saturday's home clash with Hibernian whilst the Dons moved to eighth as they now prepare for Monday night's short trip to Dundee United.

Dons boss Craig Brown was disappointed by his side's overall showing even though they did have some chances and was full of praise for Langfield who helped save the day.

"We didn't play well, we were short of our best standards, although I think we had the two best chances in the match when (Nick) Blackman was through one against one and (Rob) Milsom had a great chance. But our goalkeeper had a couple of superb saves," he said.
