Manchester United's board agree with manager David Moyes that their squad is short of quality. The Daily Mail says behind the scenes at Old Trafford, Moyes enjoys the full support of key figures.
The manager admitted last week that United won a relatively poor Premier League last season and that is known to be a view privately endorsed by people that matter.
The Glazers and new chief executive Ed Woodward accept that the squad Moyes was bequeathed by predecessor Sir Alex Ferguson is unfit for purpose and, having failed in the latter part of the transfer window to sign Everton fullback Leighton Baines and Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera, United are looking at the possibility of slightly revised offers in the new year.
