Shay Given has declared he wants to stay with Aston Villa.
The veteran Irish goalkeeper spent part of last season on-loan with Middlesbrough.
"People just want to play football and be involved in a big club like Aston Villa. Everything that has gone in the past is forgotten and we want to do what is right for the club and play for the badge on the shirt.
"I still believe I have a lot to offer, I'm feeling fit and I want to be ready to take my chance if I get it. I'm sure the manager can see I'm training hard and I'm ready if needed."
