Gini Wijnaldum excited joining Roma; playing for Mourinho

Gini Wijnaldum is delighted to be a Roma player.

The PSG midfielder has joined Roma on-loan for the season and was presented to the local media this morning.

The Dutchman said, "I chose Roma for the expression of interest and for the effort they made to bring me here. When I asked players like Salah and Strootman they all spoke well of Rome.

"Hakimi also spoke well of Rome to me. I knew Roma because we had played here at the Olimpico with Liverpool. I knew I was arriving in a club with a fantastic stadium. I asked for advice from those who could know more than me and everyone spoke well about it."

"I arrived in a team with excellent players. I think my characteristics are suitable for how Roma want to play. I hope ours can be a perfect match."

On Jose Mourinho, Wijnaldum also said: "To tell the truth, we felt when the negotiations were at an advanced stage, he didn't have to insist on convincing me. He thanked me for my choice. Mourinho's showcase speaks for itself. Anyone, including me, wants to be coached by him and when he called me I wanted to come here even more."
