Gilmour and Hutchinson feature as Chelsea U21 lose to Wolves

Billy Gilmour started for Chelsea U21s in their defeat to Wolves for their second game of the MLS NEXT Pro Invitational tournament.

Two goals either side of half-time were enough to give Wolves the win. Despite Jayden Wareham setting up a grand-stand finish 10 minutes from time, the West Midlands side held on for the win in their first game of the tournament.

Along with Gilmour, summer signings Eddie Beach was in goal and Omari Hutchinson featured in attack.

Chelsea coach Mark Robinson told the club's website: "Tonight offered a different challenge to what we have faced so far in pre-season. We had a lot of early opportunities, including hitting the post. It was key we got the first goal and not them but an unfortunate slip in midfield meant we turned over possession and their counter-attack led to a penalty.

"We continued to create chances but got a little frustrated towards the end of the first half. After another error, they capitalised again, and that gave us a mountain to climb as they sat in a deep block to protect their lead."
