Juventus are ready to step up their pursuit of a new striker signing.
Juve GM Beppe Marotta is turning to alternative targets after giving up on Wolfsburg's €60 million-rated Edin Dzeko.
Instead, Tuttosport says Fiorentina striker Alberto Gilardino, a self-confessed Juve fan, and Sampdoria's Giampaolo Pazzini are now under consideration.
Fiorentina have slapped a €25 million price-tag on Gilardino, but Marotta is banking on the striker's poor World Cup to give him some wriggle room in negotiations. Without the guarantee of Champions League money, Fiorentina may be prepared to sell.
Pazzini is unlikely to leave Samp, particularly with a Champions League campaign to play for. Much will depend on whether Samp can navigate successfully the Champions League qualifiers this summer.
