Ryan Giggs says the culture of Manchester United's players never knowing when they're beaten comes from the manager.
He revealed it is not enough to be a great footballer at Old Trafford - you need a superhuman resilience and self-belief to convince manager Sir Alex Ferguson you are made of the right stuff.
The Welshman is the only survivor from United's 1999 Champions League triumph against Bayern Munich in Barcelona.
And he reckons the never-say-die toughness that night is still burning strongly inside Fergie's dressing room.
He said: "We just don't want to get beaten.
"It filters down from the manager. Even if you lose a game he wants to take some positives from it.
"This season we maybe haven't played with the flair we've shown in the past but being resilient is a great quality to have."
