Ghana star attracting interest from top flight

Ghana international Bennard Kumordzi is wanted by one of the Premier League's top four, skysports.com reports. However, the Panionios star will not get a work permit meaning a move to England this year is unlikely to happen. Turkish giants Fenerbahce and Galatasaray are both keen, whilst Panathinaikos are also big fans.

A spokesman for the player's agency SEM confirmed the interest in Kumordzi, telling skysports.com: "There has been interest in Bennard from an English Premier League Club who will play in the Champions League next season.

"Unfortunately the player does not qualify for a UK work permit and any move must happen in Europe.

"There is interest from Turkey and Greece but the player has a contract with Panionios and any club wishing to speak to the player must first agree terms with his current club."

Kumordzi was part of Ghana's initial 30-man World Cup squad, but missed the cut after picking up an injury, although he is now ready to bounce back.

"Bennard missed the World Cup through an injury picked up in training and was obviously devastated by this but a move to one of Europe's big clubs will go some way to softening the blow," the spokesman added.
