Gefafe president Angel Torres has been left disappointed by Quique Sanchez Flores.

Sánchez Flores surprisingly resigned as coach this week.

"There was no way to get him to change his mind. Not me or the team captains could get him to budge. We were anxious for him to hold out until the end of the season," said Torres.

Torres did acknowledge too that "a good friend and coach has left us", but then displayed more bitterness stating that "if anyone should feel hurt it's me. Quique was well aware of our difficulties, he knows that we can't make big signings and that Getafe are a selling club. He's left me high and dry at a bad time."
