Getafe coach Bordalas hails goalscorer Greenwood: His success a credit to everyone here

Getafe coach Jose Bordalas hailed the performance of Mason Greenwood for victory over Almeria.

The on-loan Manchester United forward struck superbly in the 2-1 win. Former United teammate Largie Ramazani had put Almeria ahead in the seventh minute.

Bordalas said: "We have been working with Mason since he arrived, with great patience, working on timing.

"You all know that he has not played for two years. There has been a very large deficit and he is recovering with the help of everyone. The merit belongs to everyone. His has been a great goal, we know the quality that he possesses. He is still not at his best.

"I am very happy because he has integrated phenomenally. I congratulate the colleagues who have helped him a lot. Borja scored another great goal and he helped score the second. Behind the goals there is work by everyone, exemplary behavior and we are seeing it every game."

On qualifying for Europe, the coach also said: "There is a lot of league left. The classification says nothing. Almería has three points and has come close to making the afternoon difficult for us. We all see how difficult it is, how hard it is to move forward in games without thinking further afield.

"Experience makes me very sensible and coherent in any euphoria. If we exceed it we weaken ourselves and we cannot allow it. We have to continue growing, we have to enjoy."
