Gent striker David snubs Prem switch for Lille

Gent striker Jonathan David is not interested in moving to the Premier League just yet.

The Canadian star, who is an attacking midfielder and striker, was wanted by several English clubs.

The likes of Manchester United, Arsenal, Leicester City, Leeds, Brighton and Crystal Palace all enquired about the player.

But Goal says David has spoken to Ligue 1 team Lille, and is very impressed by their plan to develop him and other young players.

The Canadian is set to join the Stade Pierre-Mauroy club for a €30 million fee.

David already has 11 goals in 12 games for the national team, and managed 18 goals in 27 Juplier Pro League games last term.
