Genoa ultras slaughter Milanetto in open letter

Genoa fans are furious with Omar Milanetto after he quit the club for Padova.

It was believed he had agreed a deal with Swiss outfit FC Luzern, but last night Serie B club Padova announced Milanetto had joined them and will be presented to the media tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the fans have reacted to Milanetto's open letter thanking them for his five years at Genoa.

"Just look through the final pages of your time here," read a statement by the Tifoseria Organizzata ultras groups.

"The dinner with 'that lot' the days before the derby with Sampdoria, a pathetic first half, an ignoble second half, acting offended with your teammates when you had offended us with that phrase 'Shut it, bastards!' that you could've kept to yourself.

"You could've left in silence and made a better impression. We asked you to not only apologise, but also to take responsibility for the way you insulted us with your actions on the field and off.

"You spoke about being 'stabbed in the back.' Acting like Julius Caesar when you are Brutus means being a vile coward who strikes those who wore the same jersey and behaved like a real Grifone in those 90 minutes.

"If you were a man you'd feel shame... if only you were a man! May we never meet again."
