Genoa striker Alberto Gilardino is on his way to China's Guangzhou Evergrande.
Sky Italia says the 32-year-old's move from Genoa is now a formality, with only the arrival of official documentation needed before the deal is completed.
A fee worth 5m is close to being settled, with Gilardino already having agreed personal terms.
